Nigori

Sake

Characterized by a more or less cloudy or milky appearance, nigori sake can be of different categories such as junmai, ginjo or daiginjo. The term nigori indicates that the sake has not been filtered or has been filtered only slightly before bottling, leaving rice particles in suspension. Although nigori sake is not a separate category, its distinctive silky smooth texture distinguishes it from filtered sake.
