Founded in 1948 on Miyakojima Island in the Okinawa archipelago, Taragawa Distillery is known for its production of awamori the traditional alcohol made from distilled rice.

Surrounded by sugarcane fields, the distillery distills small quantities of locally harvested sugarcane molasses. This white rum is produced from a double distillation in a hybrid still: a first distillation under vacuum and a second under normal atmosphere.

Its fresh and gourmet profile reveals aromas of pear and vanilla on the nose, with notes of passion fruit and fresh sugar cane on the palate. A long vanilla finish will characterize the tasting.

Ideal for use as a base ingredient in cocktails, Taragawa White can also be used for the creation of arranged rum.
