Kirin Whisky

Kirin Whisky is a brand belonging to the Kirin group specialized in the production of alcoholic beverages and especially famous for its beers, whose whiskies are made at the Fuji Gotemba distillery located at the foot of Mount Fuji.

The Kirin group was founded in 1907, but the origins of the whisky brand go back to 1972 with the construction of the distillery strongly inspired by American bourbon distilleries. Equipped with a majority of column stills for the distillation of grain whisky, the first bottlings of the brand were mainly blended whiskies such as Robert Brown or Boston Club.

In addition to the production of grain whisky, the distillery also has traditional stills for distilling malt whisky, the most famous bottling of which is Kirin Whisky Fujisanroku 18 year old single malt.

In recent years, the brand has offered many now discontinued bottlings such as Kirin Fuji Tarajuku 50° Blend, Kirin Blender's Choice Single Grain and Single Malt, Kirin Pure Malt 20th Anniversary, Kirin Fujisanroku Blend 18 Year Old Limited Edition, Kirin Small Batch Single Malt 17 Year Old and Single Grain 25 Year Old, Kirin Single Grain Cask 27 Year Old and many others.

Many times awarded for its 25 years old single grain, Kirin Whisky proposes today a reduced range of whiskies with the Fuji single grain, the Fuji Blended unveiled in 2021 and sometimes some limited editions that are very popular among collectors.
