Nikka Coffey

Founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934 with the construction of the Yoichi Malt Distillery, the House of Nikka has not only produced whiskey as it has also distilled gin and vodka for several decades.

These spirits, which have always been reserved for the domestic market, are now conquering the world with a brand new range launched in 2017 that includes a gin and a vodka: the Coffey Gin and Coffey Vodka.

Made in Miyagikyo, Nikka's second distillery, these two spirits are distilled in the famous column stills, the Coffey Stills from which they take their name. With the know-how accumulated in the distillation with these stills usually used for the distillation of corn, the House offers two spirits of foreign origin entirely marked by the Japanese character.

Coffey Gin is made from a corn distillate blended with various typically Japanese botanicals such as yuzu or Sansho pepper.

Coffey Vodka is also made from a distillate of corn and malted barley, then filtered through birch coals to obtain a very pure spirit.
