Produced by the small traditional brewery of Koshinohana founded in 1870 in Niigata, Kawasemi is a junmai genshu type sake, which means no added alcohol and no reduction.
This sweet and fruity sake is best enjoyed chilled and can be drunk as an aperitif or to accompany your meals.
Sake or nihonshu is a Japanese alcoholic beverage of 14 to 17% of volume and is made from a mixture of water, yeast and steamed rice, about 20% of which has been inoculated with a microscopic fungus called koji, to allow for better fermentation.
