Nissin Umeshu 3 year old is a liqueur of ume the small Japanese fruit similar to plum, made with oshuku ume a variety from Kamiyama in Tokushima region on Shikoku island.
Nissin Shurui Brewery produces this umeshu from plum wine to express more sweetness and retain some fresh acidity and rich flavor unique to plum wine.
The carefully selected fruits are macerated with sugar in plum wine for three years making the most of the original taste and aroma of the plums. As it matures, the liqueur becomes richer, more fragrant, and the acidity becomes softer. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a meal.
Nissin Shurui is located in an area rich in nature, more than 80% of the city is surrounded by small mountains and the production of fruit trees such as plum and sudachi is flourishing. Kamiyama, a historical romance village where the clear Ayukui River flows and originates in the surrounding mountains, was once the leading producer of plums in Shikoku. At that time, oshuku ume was called the "blue diamond", a variety often used for plum wine and plum syrup because of its thick and hard flesh. It is said that Oshuku ume emits an indescribable fragrance when ripening, attracting people.

Nissin Shurui is a Japanese producer of sake, shōchū and fruit liqueurs that has been using traditional techniques since the middle of the 19th century. Based in Tokushima, Nissin is particularly known in Japan for the Sudachi-chu liqueur and the sweet potato shōchū, Naruto Kintoki Satomusume, but we have chosen to offer you their fruit liqueurs above all.
Nissin indeed produces a 3 years aged umeshu which stands out from most umeshu and offers a new tasting experience.
