Rather fine and fruity, this nihonshu will suit all those who want to learn about sake, and can be served at temperature with cheese or creamy desserts.

Sake or nihonshu is a Japanese alcoholic beverage of 14 to 17% of volume and is made from a mixture of water, yeast and steamed rice of which about 20% has been previously inoculated with a microscopic fungus to allow a better fermentation.

Founded in 1882 by Zenjiro Asahara, the brewery was established in the small village of Ogose in Saitama Prefecture.


Located in the heart of a mountainous region with preserved fauna and flora, Asahara Shuzo was originally a sake house which today offers a wide range of alcoholic beverages from sake to shochu, including the famous Nigori fruit liqueurs, but also wine and beer.
