Founded in 1948 on Miyakojima Island in the Okinawa archipelago, Taragawa Distillery is known for its production of awamori the traditional alcohol made from distilled rice.

Surrounded by sugarcane fields, the distillery distills small quantities of locally harvested sugarcane molasses. This amber rum is produced by a double distillation in a hybrid still: a first distillation under vacuum and a second under normal atmosphere. It is then aged for 5 months in ex-Bourbon barrels and bottled unfiltered at 46%.

Its complex and gourmet profile reveals banana and passion fruit aromas on the nose, with vanilla and spicy notes on the palate. A lingering spicy finish with notes of white pepper will bring the tasting to a close.

Taragawa Bourbon Cask can be enjoyed as a dry whiskey or on the rocks, but can also be used as a cocktail stocking stuffer.
