Gekkeikan Daiginjo Yamada Nishiki is a premium sake made from the noblest variety of rice brewed with pure water from the Fushimi region near Kyoto.
Founded in 1637, the Gekkeikan brewery has put all its know-how into this exceptional cuvée bottled in a dark colored bottle on which is represented a laurel crown emblem of the brand. Thanks to its high polishing rate, this sake expresses an intense fruity sensation on the nose with notes of yellow fruits, a perfect balance on the palate and a clean finish with some lactic and mineral notes.
Gekkeikan Daiginjo Yamada Nishiki, which should be served chilled, goes particularly well with vegetables in all their forms, as well as with desserts whether they are pastry, fruit or dairy.

Brewery Gekkeikan
Founded in 1637 by the Okura family, Gekkeikan, which means laurel wreath in Japanese, is the oldest sake house in the Kyoto area.
Originally, Gekkeikan was just a liquor store located in the town of Fushimi. It wasn't until 1783 that sake making really began with the construction of the first brewery. After establishing its own sake brewing research laboratory in 1909, Gekkeikan has continuously improved and innovated, contributing to the development of Fushimi sake.
