Distilled in 2012 from very lightly peated barley (10ppm), this whisky is the result of 10 years of aging in a sherry oloroso butt number 5185, which is among the largest types of casks used for aging whisky, with a capacity of up to 500 liters. They are made from European oak and offer a larger contact surface between the wood and the whisky, which allows a faster maturation and a more intense impregnation.

The nose is both sweet and powerful with deep notes of raisins, caramel and toasted nuts with a subtle touch of vanilla. On the palate, it is complex and balanced, offering an explosion of dark chocolate, dried fruit, tannin and sherry flavors that blend perfectly with a discreet touch of toasted oak smoke. The finish is persistent, slightly smoky and spicy, with a touch of honey and cinnamon. Unchill-filtered and uncolored, Akashi Single Cask 10 Year Old Sherry Oloroso Butt is presented as it was when it left the cask, allowing it to retain a smoother texture as well as all the flavors and aromas inherited during aging.

This limited edition is composed of only 680 individually numbered bottles, making it a rare and exclusive product that will delight whisky lovers looking for a unique and refined tasting experience.
