The nose reveals a gourmet sweetness of apple pie and raisins, enriched by toasty nuances from the long aging in oak barrels, evolving into light smoke and a nostalgic aroma of old wood. On the palate, an elegant woody note serves as a background to spicy flavors of cinnamon, roasted nuts and deep dark chocolate. The slight bitterness of peat is counterbalanced by the sweetness of apricot jam and maple syrup, recalling the warmth of an open fire. The finish features discreet peat wrapped in sweetness, followed by tart notes, offering pleasant bitterness and remarkable length.

This whisky is the fruit of the expertise of Nikka's six distilleries: Yoichi, Nishinomiya, Miyagikyo, Moji, Satsumatsukasa and Ben Nevis in Scotland. Traditional distilling equipment and techniques, combined with a passion for innovation, create a unique product that embodies the essence of each decade

The Nikka Nine Decades is bottled at 48% alcohol and benefits from no chill filtration, fully preserving its distinctive aromas and rich texture. This harmonious blend incorporates over 50 batches of whisky, including the oldest malt reserves from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, as well as recent grain whiskies from Moji and Satsumatsukasa. This blend pays tribute to Nikka's heritage and future, offering unrivalled complexity and depth. Only 964 decanters are available for the whole of Europe.

The special hand-crafted bottle features the Nikka emblem and is engraved using the "Edo-bori" technique. Nine superimposed square shapes symbolize the perfect harmony of the whiskies of the nine decades, while the six-color checkerboard background represents the six distilleries. The wooden box, inscribed with the names and signatures of past and present chain masters, also includes a special booklet in Japanese and English, detailing the representative whisky of each decade and Nikka's milestones. The box is a tribute to Nikka's perseverance, pioneering spirit and exceptional craftsmanship.
