As its name suggests, Ichiro's Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve is a special blend created by Ichiro Akuto and matured in Mizunara casks, a variety of oak specific to Japan. This blend is made from a mixture of single malts from the remaining Japanese oak casks of the now closed Hanyu distillery, casks from Chichibu, as well as imported single malts aged in Mizunara casks.

Ichiro's Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve is a complex blended malt with a strong woody and spicy aroma and an incredible maturity. Unchill-filtered and bottled at 46% of volume, it will seduce the most daring amateurs and novices.

Ichiro's Malt is a brand created in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, founder of the Chichibu distillery and Venture Whisky, the company in charge of marketing the brand.


Ichiro Akuto, having recovered the remaining casks of Hanyu, his grandfather's distillery, has shown his imagination by proposing a very varied range from young single malts from Chichibu to blended malts from Double Distilleries or exclusive bottlings of Hanyu's single malts.
