Choya Yuzu is the latest fruit liquor released by Choya the most famous producer of umeshu, a traditional liquor made from ume a typical japanese fruit between plum and greengage. The fruity sweetness of ume is enhanced by the slightly acidulated freshness of yuzu, small citrus similar to lemon and grown on the island of Shikoku. Ume liquor is traditionally produced from freshly harvested fruits macerated in alcohol for a period of nearly 3 years, and to give birth to Choya Yuzu, fresh yuzu juice is added at the end of maceration. Its high concentration of sugar gives it a very charming texture both soft and smooth.
